Know More...Frequently Asked Questions for High-Pressure Die Casting
It is a process in which molten metal is forced under pressure into a securely locked metal die cavity and is held by a powerful press until the metal solidifies.
The machines used in high pressure die casting are the Latest and highly efficient HMT-BHULER, TBC, and LK.
The products that can be made from high pressure die casting is Elan, cover for oil separator, exhaust cover plate, filter support, assemble extension arm, assembly rear cover, and many more items.
To choose the correct alloy for high pressure die casting, you should ensure that it has high ductility, high impact strength, and if it can be easily plated. High pressure die casting is restricted to the lower melting point alloys. The bulk of die casting is carried out in zinc-, magnesium- and aluminum-based alloys.
There are two types of die castings, hot chamber casting, which uses metals like zinc, magnesium, and lead and cold chamber casting bench uses metals like aluminum, brass, and magnesium. High pressure die castings can provide thinner cross-sections than any other casting process. Wall thicknesses as thin as 0.38 mm can be achieved in small aluminum components. For large components, wall thicknesses range from 2.7 to 4.5 mm.
Some of the benefits of high pressure die castings are:
- It is possible to cast fairly complex products due to precision tooling used.
- High production efficiency can be achieved as the whole process is almost fully automated.
- The cast part can have a very good surface finish.
- Better mechanical properties and tighter dimensional tolerances than other casting processes.
- Economical both for small or larger volume production.
